Dr. Ashok Rajgopal is an internationally renowned orthopaedic surgeon with more than 39,000 total knee replacement surgeries to his credit. He is known for performing the first bilateral procedure and minimally invasive total knee replacement surgery in India. He has also pioneered virtual total knee replacement using patient-specific instrumentation and was the first surgeon to use gender-specific knees in India. With over 60,000 arthroscopic surgeries for sports injuries, he is also a designer surgeon and part of the design team of the Persona knee system developed by Zimmer. He has designed and developed patented instruments for minimally invasive total knee replacement surgeries, which are now used by surgeons worldwide.
