Dr. Atul N.C. Peters is the Principal Director of Bariatric, Minimal Access & Robotic Surgery at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi. Under his leadership, the department was awarded Centre of Excellence for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery by OSSI effective January 1st, 2020. He operates in India, Dubai, and Muscat and is board certified by the National Board of Surgery. With over 20 years of surgical experience, his practice is dedicated to Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery for Diabetes, performing more than 300 cases annually. Dr. Peters has been accredited as a 'Surgeon of Excellence' by the Surgical Review Corporation, USA. He is also a Certified Fitness Trainer from ISSA and runs bariatric support groups integrated with music therapy. He is the first surgeon to start a bariatric program in North West Africa, namely Nigeria, and holds a LIMCA Book of World Records title for performing sixteen bariatric surgeries in a single day.
