About
Dr. Krishna Subramony Iyer is one of India's most renowned paediatric cardiac surgeons and a pioneer in congenital heart surgery. In 1995, he established Northern India's first dedicated paediatric cardiac care program at Escorts Heart Institute Research Centre (now Fortis Escorts Heart Institute), setting new standards for paediatric cardiac care across India and South-East Asia. With over four decades of experience, he has successfully operated on more than 10,000 babies, children, and adults with congenital heart diseases. His expertise spans highly complex procedures including arterial switch operations, double switch procedures, TAPVC repairs, Fontan surgeries, Tetralogy of Fallot corrections, DORV repairs, Truncus repairs, Senning operations, conduit repairs, and multi-stage corrections for complex congenital heart defects. He performed India's first successful rapid two-stage arterial switch and double switch operations and continues to focus on neonatal cardiac surgery, management of complex congenital heart diseases, and affordable cardiac care solutions for children.
