About
Dr. Vivek Vij is a pioneering liver transplant surgeon credited with developing living donor liver transplant surgery and standardizing donor safety protocols in India. He is the first surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to publish a series on Laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy in the journal 'Liver Transplantation'. Dr. Vij founded the Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Sciences program within the Fortis Group, launching highly successful liver transplant programs at Fortis Noida and later at Fortis Mohali. Along with his team, he has performed more than 2,500 liver transplants with an outstanding patient success rate of 97%. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery, and minimally invasive donor surgery.
